Join JRA for a community clean up at at College Creek on the Colonial Parkway. All supplies and water will be provided. Lunch is not provided, so please bring a brown bag lunch to eat during the break. Pre-registration is required. Youth are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult if under 18. July 30, 2015 -9:00am - 12:00pm - Stormwater Medallion Placement, Richmond
Join the James River Association partnering with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation as we place stormwater medallions in Oak Grove, Richmond at E 22nd and Gordon Ave, parking is available. August 1, 2015 James River Splash & Dash - Lynchburg
The James River Splash & Dash in Lynchburg is a one-of-a-kind 2 mile trail run that includes a flat water tube down the James River.  Participants run down the paved path on Percival's Island, navigate an uneven trail with obstacles of all kinds before hitting the water with a tube. www.JRSplashAndDash.org Voluteers needed!

August 1, 2015 8:30am - 11:30am - Community Team Trash Cleanup - Deerborne Civic Group, Richmond
In support of the Mayor’s Participation, Action and Communication Team (MPACT), the James River Association is putting together Community Cleanup teams to join scheduled MPACT cleanup events. We need you to lead your group of 5-20 people, DIY Trash cClone of Community Trash Cleanup - Aug 1 2015 cleanup kits will be provided, and must be picked up by the team leader at JRA’s office at 4833 Old Main street on a weekday prior to the cleanup. This is a self-directed volunteer opportunity, JRA will only provide clean up kits. Team leaders are responsible for transportation and all other resources. Click here to register. Explore the quiet marshes of Powhatan Creek on a free interpretive kayak paddle, guided by naturalists at James City County Marina. Limit of 14 participants, with pre-registration required. Kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be provided by Eco Discovery Park. Trips are free to the public, but participants may only attend one trip in the 2015 series.

August 4, 2015 6pm - 8:00 pm, Richmond Paddling Trip
Enjoy a free paddling trip in Richmond, guided by JRA Staff. Depart from Great Shiplock Park, at the intersection of Pear and Dock Streets in Richmond. There is a limit of 16 participants, with pre-registration required. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or use ours. Trips are free to the public, but participants may only attend one trip in the 2015 series.

Bring your own kayak or rent on from Windsor Castle Kayaks for $10 per participant. We will be leaving out of Windsor Castle Park and paddling Cypress Creek and the Pagan River. Trips are free to the public (with your own kayak). Limit of 14 participants, with pre-registration required.

Bring your canoe or kayak and join JRA's Upper James River Outreach Coordinator, Rob Campbell, on a quiet James River paddle leaving out of Riveredge Park. Please bring life jackets for the trip. Pre-registration is required.
