Monday July 5, 6 - 8pm - Williamsburg Interpretive Paddle 
Free Williamsburg Paddle: Paddles embark from James City County Marina at 6:00 pm and explore the quiet marshes of Powhatan Creek and Jamestown Island. Paddlers will experience a journey very similar to that of our settlers more than 400 years ago. Registration Required

Saturday, July 16, 2:30pm, James River Splash & Dash- Richmond
The James River Splash & Dash Sponsored by Riverside Outfitters is a one-of-a-kind 6K trail run or 1 mile walk that includes a flat water tube across the James River. Get ready to navigate an uneven trail with obstacles of all kinds, including rocks, roots, and other natural obstacles. Invite your friends and join us for the after party which will include live music, beverages from Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and the RVA Street Foodies featuring Richmond's best food trucks. www.JRSplashAndDash.org


Tuesday June 19, 6-7:30 Richmond Interpretive Paddle
Paddlers will explore Richmond’s transforming riverfront and learn about the history and wildlife of the James River. Paddles begin at 6 pm at Great Shiplock Park. The cost is $10 per person. Registration Required.

Saturday, July 30th, 10am - 2pm, River Rats Training- Buchanan/Covington
Training for JRA’s RiverRats program, to be held in Buchanan/Covington area. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Click here to register.

Saturday, August 6, James River Splash & Dash - Lynchburg
The James River Splash & Dash in Lynchburg is a one-of-a-kind 2 mile trail run that includes a flat water tube down the James River.  Participants run down the paved path on Percival's Island, navigate an uneven trail with obstacles of all kinds before hitting the water with a tube. After the race enjoy an after party with music, food and beer sales! www.JRSplashAndDash.org

Saturday, August 13th, 9am - 2 pm, River Rats Training - Charlottesville
Training for JRA’s RiverRats program, to be held at Ecovillage in Charlottesville. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Click here to register.

Tuesday August 16, 6-7:30 Richmond Interpretive Paddle
Paddlers will explore Richmond’s transforming riverfront and learn about the history and wildlife of the James River. Paddles begin at 6 pm at Great Shiplock Park. The cost is $10 per person. Registration Required.

Saturday, August 27, 10:30am-3pm; Invasive Species Training and Removal at Belmead - Powhatan
Join JRA to learn about invasive species and help remove them from the buffer at Belmead. The afternoon will include an indoor training portion from 10:30am-Noon to teach citizens about the problem of invasive plant species, our biggest invasive offenders at Belmead, removal strategies, and how they can use this knowledge to help with this effort and/or in their own garden. We will enjoy lunch by the river from Noon-1pm, so bring along a brown bag lunch! From 1-3pm, we will put our new knowledge to work and remove invasive species along the James. Folks are free to participate in the training and hands on portion, or just pick one. The training is free and pre-registration is required.
