The Tire-Less JamesThe Tire-Less James
Saturday, September 13th

Let’s Work for a “Tire-less” James!

Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped to remove remove tires from the James River during the second annual Tire-less James event! We had 180 volunteers pull over 1,000 tires from the river between Roanoke and Williamsburg! See photos from the event here.

JRA partnered with Virginia Canals & Navigations Society and the Heart of Virginia Council Boy Scouts of America in The Tire-less James project on September 13, 2014. The James River Batteau Festival is a trademark project of VC&NS.

The TireLess JamesBridgestone Americas LLC supported JRA's efforts by providing free hauling and recycling of all tires collected during the cleanup through its Tires4Ward program.

This was a self-directed cleanup. Volunteers were asked to select a section of the James for their cleanup and register online.

A big thank you goes to the teams below that helped remove tires from the James River.
